Amount of allowance

The salary in the FSB is growing steadily from year to year. According to official data, the average monthly salary of a fighter increased by 50% from 2021 to 2021. And this does not take into account allowances.

What does the amount of earnings consist of?

Calculation of income depends on several factors. First of all, salary determines rank: the higher the position, the higher the salary. There are also bonuses, for example, for length of service. And also quarterly and annual bonuses.

What are the rates for today?

Information about employee income is not a secret, so finding out how much they earn at the FSB will not be difficult. The salary of an FSB officer according to official data for 2021:

Job titleMonthly salary (rub.)
Ordinary employee12 000
Investigative Officer31 000
Senior Opera33 000
Investigator21-28 000
Radio technician and maintenance personnel18 000
Junior officer (warrant officer, lieutenant)24 000
Drivers of specialized equipment30 000
Middle officer (captain, major)32 000
Higher officer (lieutenant colonel, colonel, general)40 000
Junior Special Forces Officer33 000

The table shows the salary without allowances that significantly increase income. It is impossible to find out how much an individual special forces soldier receives along with allowances, since everything is individual, and employees do not apply to this matter.

How often are rates indexed?

Since 2013, a plan was introduced to improve the financial situation of the military. Initially, it affected police officers whose salaries were increased by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As a result, it turned out that in the FSB the amount of earnings became less than that of colleagues. After increasing wages by 50% in 2016-17, it was planned to increase it by another 20% in 2021.

However, the crisis and inflation affected even such important state apparatuses as the FSB. And instead of the planned 20%, senior officers will receive a 7% increase in 2021, and 5% for the remaining employees. Given the unpredictable economic situation, the amount of indexation in 2021 is not yet known.

Bonuses, what they depend on

It is the bonuses that make a security officer’s salary competitive compared to other vacancies. The allowances themselves are of two types: guaranteed and special. The first includes payments for length of service. The amount of the bonus depends on the length of service:

Life timePercentage of monthly supplement
from 6 to 12 months5%
from 1 to 2 years10%
from 2 to 5 years25%
from 5 to 10 years40%
from 10 to 15 years45%
from 15 to 20 years50%
from 20 to 22 years old55%
from 22 to 26 years old65%
from 26 years or more70%

Merit bonuses include:

  • for performing special tasks;
  • bonuses for the quarter and year;
  • travel allowances.

The bonus system also applies to contract workers.

Promotions and awards

In addition to financial bonuses, an employee can receive a medal for his service. They are of the following types: “For distinction in military service”, “For distinction in special operations”, “For participation in a counter-terrorist operation” and others. Medals by themselves do not provide benefits or salary increases. But the merit for which the award was received may become the reason for a promotion in rank or the basis for an increase.

Contract service system

To get a job under a contract, you must submit an application to the territorial body of the FSB at your place of residence. through the web reception on the official website of the FSB - www.fsb.ru.

The letter must contain the following information: the applicant’s full name, date of birth, registration information, current place of work/study. If anything is missed or not completed, the letter will not be considered. A candidate for the security forces must meet the following requirements:

  • presence of secondary, higher or secondary vocational education;

  • absence of problems with the law both for the candidate and for his immediate family members.

These are the minimum conditions that must be met to become a contractor. Also, in order to become a direct employee, you have to pass a number of tests and other checks.

Why might the contract not be renewed?

The reason may be some serious violation. In this case, the contract will be terminated and it will not be possible to extend it. If there are no violations, then the contract extension can be refused only on the basis of age.

Paramilitary structures have the same service age limit - 65 years. However, if an employee has reached this age, this does not mean that he will definitely be denied a contract extension. As a rule, they look at the person’s health status and his ability to perform his duties. If the requirements are met, the experienced personnel will be able to continue serving if the contract extension is approved by the authorities. However, in this case it will not be long-term.

Reductions and reforms in the FSB bodies

The last serious reform in the FSB was carried out in 2012. Then the resolution tightened the acceptance of candidates. For example, they began to use a lie detector during interviews. New questions were also added to the list regarding the candidate’s political views.

As for layoffs, this is a rare occurrence. As a rule, employees of financial and economic departments are laid off, and not the security forces themselves. But some measures to reduce the headquarters were taken. For example, if an employee retires, a replacement may not be found to replace him. In the FSB, the situation with reductions is much better than in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and there are no waves of layoffs.

Social benefits for FSB employees

Working for the government provides some benefits for its employees. Benefits for intelligence officers are almost identical to those of other law enforcement agencies. However, there is still some difference.

Length of service in the FSB

The length of service primarily determines the size of the salary supplement, as well as the size of the pension and the length of vacation. But military mortgages deserve special attention. With a service period of at least 4 years and the rank of at least a junior officer, a law enforcement officer can take out an apartment on a mortgage under the military program.

In this case, the state undertakes to pay the first installment, as well as pay all subsequent installments, up to the purchase of the apartment. However, the employee will be required to work for a specified period of time. If a person quits before the state buys the apartment, then he will have to pay the rest himself.

Pension provision

To receive a pension, an FSB employee must serve at least 20 years. Law enforcement officers can retire at the age of 45. The payment amount is 69% of salary and 3% for each additional year of service after 20 years of service. The maximum pension amount is 85% of salary. Upon retirement, a former employee receives a special pension certificate.

Employee life insurance

The life and health of every military man is under state insurance. The amount of insurance depends on the extent of damage. If an employee dies in service, his family is paid a lump sum insurance payment in the amount of his ten-year salary. If an injury occurs that prevents a soldier from continuing to serve, he is paid five years of security.

Duration and payment of vacations

Each employee can go on paid leave every year. The duration of rest increases as the service life increases:

Life timeDuration of vacation (days)
less than 10 years30
from 10 to 15 years35
from 15 to 20 years40
more than 20 years45

Vacation is provided both in full and in parts, provided that one part lasts at least 15 days. It is important to note that civil servants of law enforcement agencies can only vacation on Russian territory. You can leave the country only for one of the following reasons:

  • need to visit family;
  • visit the burial place of relatives;
  • when registering an inheritance abroad;
  • if necessary, foreign treatment;
  • if you have a seriously ill relative who needs to be visited.

After retirement or dismissal, the restriction on leaving the country is lifted.

Transport benefits

Employees can count on free travel to their place of work. Business trips and travel to the place of treatment are also paid. If an employee has a personal vehicle that he uses for business purposes, he may demand compensation in the form of payment for gasoline.

Subsidies for the purchase of housing

In addition to the military mortgage, the employee has subsidies that allow him to receive a discount on the purchase of housing or payment for other housing-related needs. Full list of services covered by the subsidy:

  • buying a property;
  • paying off mortgage debt;
  • purchase of land;
  • construction of a private house.

The size of the subsidy depends on two factors: length of service and the number of people in the employee’s family.

Benefits for FSB employees

If necessary, the employee has the right to study personal information about the person interested, study his personal correspondence, telephone calls, and also carry out personal observation. Sometimes, employees need prompt implementation and investigative measures. Especially when a criminal case is initiated.

Only citizens of the Russian Federation have the right to apply for a position in the FSB. Women are also hired, but only for the positions of personnel officers and document specialists. For women, there is no need to graduate from a military university or serve in the army; graduating from a civilian university is sufficient. Preference is given to technical professions, lawyers or psychologists.

Medical certificate of fitness for service

As in the case of conscription into the army, it is necessary to undergo a military medical commission (MMC). It involves going through a series of doctors and taking tests. The commission takes place in the internal clinic of the structure, so there is no need to stand in lines with conscripts. The required category depends on the specialty. Work, for example, in special forces requires a category A-1. For a technical specialty, B-1 will be sufficient.

Military ID

You can enlist in the service without a military ID. But it will be extremely difficult to do this and you will have to convince the commander of your usefulness. In this case, higher education, for example, economic or technical, will help. You won’t be able to become a special forces soldier, but the FSB is not limited to SOBR alone. Without a military ID, you can try to enroll, for example, in the anti-corruption department.

Certificate of income and expenses

The form will need to be filled out for each family member. This must be done on a computer and then printed. In the form you must indicate:

  • sources of income;
  • real estate and vehicles;
  • bank accounts;

It should also contain information about economic transactions related to the acquisition of property over the past 3 years.

Housing subsidy for FSB employees: payments

It is an honor to work in the Federal Security Service. Having inherited the sphere from the powerful KGB, it took on the most difficult work - protecting the supreme power of the country, countering terrorism, extremism, etc. One of the forms of the state expressing gratitude to employees for their work is a subsidy to the FSB. Its goal is to improve the living conditions of people working in the law enforcement agencies. Let us note that in 2021, according to statistical data, more than 31 thousand military families do not have their own housing.

Subsidizing FSB employees is not the provision of some kind of financial assistance and is not aimed at providing employees with apartments or houses. We are talking about one-time social assistance, the measurement of which is non-cash. The subsidized recipient receives a certificate that gives him the right to buy residential space on preferential terms. The state bears part of the costs.

Disputes regarding the assignment and payment of pensions to persons specified in Article 1 of this Law and their families, the recovery of overpaid amounts of pensions and benefits are resolved by higher authorities in the order of subordination of the pension authorities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation or the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation or in court in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation (Article as amended, put into effect on December 6, 1995 by Federal Law of November 28, 1995 No. 186-FZ; supplemented from July 29, 1998 by Federal Law of July 21, 1998 No. 117-FZ).

The pension for the loss of a breadwinner, who was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, is subject to increase by 50 percent of the pension amount in accordance with paragraph “a” of Article 45 of the Law of the Russian Federation “On pension provision for persons who passed through. (Extract) Determination of the Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases of the Supreme Court of Russia dated May 29, 1998 N b/n

The main and important requirement is Russian citizenship. The FSB also hires women. Most often they are employed as clerks. While men must have a higher education and serve in the army, women are allowed to study at civilian universities. After graduation, women receive the rank of ensign.

  • danger to life and health;
  • enormous psychological and physical stress;
  • constant processing;
  • inability to take a long vacation;
  • high responsibility - the employee may be familiar with state secrets;
  • ban on traveling abroad.

Transport tax benefits are assigned only in the case of documented proof of disability during military operations, or with the status of “Veteran of military service” . To be able to pay car tax at a discount, you should submit an application to the tax office at your place of residence. Copies of the pension certificate and documents for the car must be attached to the application.

“Once upon a time, we had and have maintained until today preferential conditions for purchasing a summer cottage or, for example, installing a home telephone,” Lyudmila Romanenko continued her own story. “But almost all of the former prisoners are already well over 70, all of them first of all need inexpensive medical drugs, as well as to prolong their fate. And this is the most expensive thing they have.”

Maybe let the spouse serve for the good of the country first, and then get benefits (preferences)? They acquire the same amount of money as everyone else, whether the army or the FSB, but! Out of fear, they are entitled to benefits (preferences). The legislation needs to be changed, all benefits (preferences) must be abolished, everyone should take everything for the money they earn.

  • Application form for employment, in the prescribed form;
  • Photocopies of passport, military ID, birth certificate;
  • Photocopies of documents confirming your education and qualifications;
  • Data on property status;
  • A package of documents from close relatives.

The purpose of the FSB's actions is always aimed at increasing the state power of Russia and protecting the existing political regime. This condition is one of the key ones in shaping the prestige of employment, as well as when the earnings received by department employees are determined.

Who cannot be recruited

A failed test, unsuitable health, bad luck with a close relative - there are a number of reasons why a candidate may be rejected. The Federal Security Service is a serious organization, so the selection is extremely strict.

The law does not prohibit a girl from becoming an intelligence agent. A woman can have almost the same occupation as a man, from a driver to an intelligence officer in the GRU. The only exceptions are special forces, where brute force is needed. Although a woman can formally even become a general, in reality, not a single FSB employee can wear the shoulder straps of a senior officer.

Is it necessary to have Russian citizenship?

Only a Russian citizen can become an employee of the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation. Since the work is closely related to state secrets, there are no exceptions. Also, previously having another citizenship may affect the chance of being accepted (not in favor of the candidate).

Is an expunged criminal record taken into account?

With a criminal record, work in the FSB is closed forever. No exceptions.

Does the criminal record of relatives affect

Having close relatives with a criminal record will bar access to service in the FSB. Close relatives are considered to be: spouse, children, parents, brothers and sisters, children of spouses (even step-children).

Subsidies for the FSB: housing benefits for employees, procedure for receiving

Salaries in the FSB are high, because the lives of employees are at risk, and their health is constantly tested under high stress. In addition to the salary itself, employees can count on bonuses related to compensation for harm caused to health.

Housing subsidies for FSB employees are provided only if the serviceman does not own any housing. In this case, meters are taken into account not only in our country, but also abroad. If the employee has meters, then the calculation is made differently. In this case, the housing subsidy for FSB vovan 033 covers only those square meters that are not enough to meet the standard. It turns out that the area that already exists is subtracted from the required area, and the difference is used in the calculations.

Despite the fact that employees cannot have a second source of income, there are exceptions: teaching and scientific activities. The main thing is that the work is financed by the Russian Federation.

Reporting income information

Information about income and expenses must be submitted not only upon entering the service, but also every year. The old questionnaire expires on December 31st. New year - new profile.

Participation in public organizations

Any public and municipal activities are prohibited. In particular, it is prohibited to post photos and information about yourself and other employees on social networks.

Is it possible to hold elected office?

It is prohibited to join any commercial or non-profit organizations. And also be a member of management bodies, trustee and supervisory boards.

Is it possible to belong to political parties?

This applies to public and elective positions, and is therefore also prohibited. Recruitment of staff has become more stringent in recent years and their political views are taken very seriously to ensure that they do not have any opposition sympathizers within their ranks.

Comparison of salary levels and benefits with other categories of paramilitary departments

The income of employees in the FSB significantly exceeds the salary in other law enforcement agencies. The salary in SOBR will be twice as high as that of a police officer. Income differs especially strongly in the positions of ordinary, lower and middle officers. At the same time, senior officers earn almost the same money in all paramilitary organizations.

Thus, the salary of an FSB employee differs from the income level of an employee of other services. This is associated with the requirements placed on the candidate and the specifics of the job.

Salary in the FSB in 2021

A mandatory requirement for a future FSB employee is Russian citizenship. Women can apply for employment. Mostly they are busy with documentation. It is not uncommon for girls to work as medical workers in special forces or border troops of the FSB.
