Status of a medal for a participant in a military operation in Syria

And they will cure us, but just like you, they will put you in prison. But the terrorists who bring the wounded from Syria will be treated by you and released. Either don't treat or don't let go. It is possible to find out whether a person participated in battles once or twice. They are from another country and there is no need to make snot and drool here.

I also have many friends in Israel

: Question: what is their social status, education and place of residence (there are some who have lived in the “Russian ghetto” for 30 years).
During my studies/service/work, I lived for a long time (a year or more) in all parts of the country/territories and this is my personal experience (including from canteens and smoking rooms, as well as conversations in the kitchen (literally)), and not “ political information on behalf of the Jews"

A medal - for Syria, a medal - for simple service - ...

How do you like this “cavalcade”: “For service in the Air Force”, “...in the Marine Corps”, “...in the Submarine Forces”, “...in the Railway Troops”, “...in the Surface Forces”, “...in the Special Forces” ", "...in naval aviation"... Why?! A person has connected his life with the Air Force or Navy, serves himself and serves - why reward him for this? It’s the same as if suddenly at school teachers began to be “awarded” “For teaching mathematics”, “... Russian language and literature”, “... physics”, “... biology”...

Let's move on. As soon as tank biathlons and other military competitions began to be held a few years ago, in 2014 the medal “For Distinction in Competitions” (three degrees) appeared. It is awarded to military personnel and coaches of teams that take 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. That is, gold, silver and bronze sports medals on a ribbon around the neck are also extremely insufficient; those who distinguished themselves must also be celebrated “in a chest-like, combat-style” manner. Why, what is the deep meaning of this?!

Required documents

Important! The set of documents when applying for benefits will depend on what kind of privileges the combat veteran is applying for. For example, to get an apartment, you need to obtain a certificate in advance of registration as a person in need of improved living conditions.

In any case, when applying for any benefit, you will need:

  • Russian passport;
  • certificate of a veteran of combat operations in Syria;
  • certificate of family composition;
  • pensioner's ID;
  • conclusion of a medical and social examination on recognition of a citizen as disabled (for combat disabled persons).

How to apply for benefits for veterans of combat operations in Syria

Important! The department responsible for sending a citizen to Syria for service is responsible for issuing a veteran’s certificate.

The algorithm of actions when applying for benefits for combat veterans in the Northern Administrative District is as follows:

  1. A citizen applies to the military registration and enlistment office or other department to obtain a veteran’s certificate.
  2. The veteran collects the necessary documents (the list can be found in the authorized bodies, the State Social Protection Service, and the Administration of the municipality).
  3. The veteran applies to the district office of the Federal Tax Service to apply for tax deductions and obtain permission to be exempt from paying certain taxes.
  4. The veteran visits the district office of the Pension Fund in order to receive compensation and social benefits in addition to the pension.
  5. The veteran submits an application to the housing department of the settlement administration to provide him with an apartment from the municipal housing fund.

Expert opinion on the issue

President of Russia V.V. Putin issued an order to amend the text of Federal Law No. 5-FZ of January 12, 1995 (in Article 16) regarding the provision of benefits to veterans of combat operations in Syria who were in Syria to perform combat missions from September 30, 2015 to the present day .

According to the latest news, the Ministry of Defense agrees to recognize civilian employees who worked at the Khmeimim airbase and other strategic facilities as veterans.

Participants in the war in Syria are en masse defending their veteran status in the courts

Then officials of the Ministry of Defense sent a letter to the editor, in which they instructed in an edifying tone that there was nothing to worry about. Allegedly, “on behalf of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, a draft amendment to federal legislation is being prepared to eliminate legislative uncertainty on the issue of paying increased survivor pensions to family members of a combat veteran.” But, as you can see, the problem is not only not solved, but continues to get worse.

You didn't fight here

At a closed meeting, Sergei Shoigu threatened that he would not allow the commanders who sat in their warm places to “undermine the faith of military personnel in the leadership,” and promised to send them to “hot places.” “Our Version” looked into why this situation arose and whether there were ways to solve it.

The award “for Syria” was introduced by order of Army General Sergei Shoigu on November 30, 2021 - exactly two months after the start of Russian aviation operations in this country (and six days after the death of the commander of the Su-24 bomber, Major Oleg Peshkov) and became 60 -some kind in the medal line of the Moscow Region.

And on the 29th of the same month, the first deputy head of the military department, Ruslan Tsalikov, presented insignia to employees of the legal service and administration of the Ministry of Defense in connection with the 180th anniversary of this structure.

Benefits for a Medal to a Participant of the Military Operation in Syria

This is a regular circle made of brass (golden-colored metal). The diameter of such a circle is 32 mm. On both sides there is a collar (a slightly convex side bordering the medal along the entire circumference) with a rough surface.

Veterans will be recognized as persons who were sent to ensure the implementation of special tasks in Syria on the eve of the start of the corresponding operation. This status will be given to military personnel who have completed their term or were sent out ahead of schedule for good reasons. A civil servant may also hope to be treated as if he were a participant in a military operation. So far, the legislation does not contain such a line, but the Ministry of Defense does not exclude the possibility of recognizing such persons working at strategic facilities, including the Khmeimim airbase, as veterans.
