  3. Soldiers of the battalions that delivered goods to Afghanistan during the war in the country.
  4. Persons who flew from the territory of the USSR to Afghanistan may also qualify for benefits. But there is one caveat: such sorties had to be carried out during an armed conflict in the state.

It is important to know! What is freezing a funded pension?

The amount of pension payments is calculated individually, since the amount of payments is influenced by the following factors:

  • period of stay in Afghanistan;
  • experience;
  • presence of injuries;
  • territory of military operations;
  • place of residence;
  • job title;
  • rank.

The main difference is that one year of service in Afghanistan is equivalent to three years of service.

In addition, Afghan pensioners have the right to receive two pensions: basic and veteran. The basic pension is assigned in the standard way upon reaching retirement age.

The second pension is lower than the usual one. The amount of veteran payments is 3,000 rubles.

What benefits are provided?

People who risked their lives for the security of their home country can count on a number of privileges in various areas of social services. When assigning benefits, legislative bodies draw a line between participants in a military conflict and citizens who are service personnel in military units.

Veteran categories

  • The first category includes military personnel who were directly involved in demining territories that were previously part of the republics of the countries of the former USSR. Also included here are those citizens who fulfilled their combat and military duty in other states in which hostilities were taking place and in which the USSR took part;
  • The second category includes pilots who performed their military duty in countries such as Afghanistan, Chechnya, Vietnam, Syria and other countries during certain periods. In addition, the pilots must have received injuries, contusions or other injuries while performing their direct duties in wartime;
  • The law includes in the third category citizens who carried out not military, but labor activities in those countries indicated above, in the presence of hostilities during specific periods.
