This law on Chernobyl victims is still in force today. In addition to this law, the Government of Ukraine has adopted a number of resolutions that regulate certain issues regarding the provision of benefits to Chernobyl victims and their families. Geographically, this is a fairly vast territory, covering significant areas in the Bryansk, Kaluga, Tula and Oryol regions. How much is the pension for Chernobyl victims?

In this regard, the population found and living in the territories that suffered the greatest damage from the accident are provided with various benefits and preferences, including the right to receive preferential pensions.

It should be borne in mind that disability is regarded as a temporary payment based on a document assigning a group, which has a period, after which the citizen must re-pass the examination, otherwise the pension will be terminated.

Victims at a power plant may receive accruals in the event of injury and trauma, then they are entitled to a disability pension, an old-age pension when the person has experience and the corresponding retirement age. Families who have lost their breadwinner due to the events that have occurred are entitled to the accrual.

Taking these facts into account, the state provides benefits to widows of WWII participants in 2021 and provides comprehensive assistance to family members left without a breadwinner.

The law established that persons in the radiation zone must be resettled from dangerous populated areas within the framework of the Unified State Program. At the same time, citizens were given the opportunity to independently choose their place of residence according to data on the radiation situation and maximum radiation doses in the territory contaminated as a result of the disaster.
