Therefore, all transfers must be made on time to avoid troubles with the authorities. Read on to learn how to pay property tax for individuals.

Types of taxes

Citizens have to pay a large number of taxes:

  • Income. Paid by workers.
  • Transport. For vehicle owners.
  • Owned real estate.
  • Land. If you own a plot of land, you must pay for it.

Payment of annual charges is made using several methods.

What to do if the tax is paid, but the debt does not disappear

Completion of a tax transaction does not confirm the fact that the funds arrive in the desired account instantly: after the date of transfer, it may take 10 to 14 days before the payment reaches the budget. Additionally, it may take another 14 days for the payment to be processed directly by the Federal Tax Service. For this reason, it is sometimes useful to pay taxes, penalties, and fines in a larger amount.

If, after a month, the tax debt does not disappear, the payer must contact Sberbank by calling the hotline number and checking the information by last name and TIN. If the transaction went through and the money was written off, you should contact the territorial representative office of the Federal Tax Service with a receipt - if you have a supporting document, the error will be corrected within a few days.

Notification from the tax office

How do you pay taxes on a tax notice?

The Code provides that payment of property tax for citizens is carried out on the basis of a notification received from the tax authority.

In cases where the tax authorities themselves calculate the amount to be contributed to the budget, the obligation to pay it arises after receiving the relevant document. Notification from the tax office must be sent to the payer in advance.

By law, this period is thirty working days before the deadline for making payment.

To ensure timely receipt of notifications, tax employees can hand them over to payers personally, send them by registered mail or via email.

Recently, electronic notification has been introduced for those persons who have registered in their personal taxpayer account.

If they want to receive a written document in hand, they will have to notify the local inspectorate. The document itself is drawn up according to the form approved by the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation.

It must contain the amount to be paid, the due date, as well as information about the rate and tax base used in the calculations. If the notice does not indicate a deadline for payment, then this must be done within a month. It is worth keeping in mind that tax may be calculated for several years at once.

If the notification is not received this year, then next year you will have to pay for two at once.

Through Sberbank Online

The SberbankOnline platform allows clients of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, holders of debit cards/accounts, to pay taxes without charging interest.

  4. After checking the entered data, make the payment.
  5. Print a receipt, if necessary. The completed payment will be saved in the “Payment History”; a receipt can be printed later.

It is important to note! Having a receipt sent by registered mail, paying taxes for relatives, friends, acquaintances, and colleagues will not cause any difficulties.

Sberbank tariffs for online payments to the Federal Tax Service

There are no fees for paying for government services, which include payments to the Tax Service - no additional interest is charged, so the client pays exactly the amount that was charged on the receipt. This rule applies when using the Sberbank Online service, Mobile Bank and connecting autopayment.

However, sometimes the bank still charges a commission; this situation can occur if the taxpayer is late in payment, the court has issued an order for collection with a fine, and the recipient is the budget directly. The commission will be 1% of the transaction amount, but not more than 500 rubles. To avoid additional charges, you must fulfill your obligations on time.

Where else can you make a payment?

You can pay the property tax of an individual on time, without delays, in other ways.

  • Branches of Russian Post. No interest is charged for making a payment. There is a post office in any region of residence. The disadvantages of this method are: operating hours, long service, constant queues, long transfer times.
  • Bank branches. They ensure fast acceptance of payments; they reach their destination within 24 hours. No percentage is taken. Disadvantages: limited opening hours, queues in which you have to stand for 1–2 hours.
  • Terminals, ATMs in bank branches. Having a debit bank card from any Russian bank, you can pay all taxes on a receipt. Find an organization by INN/current account number, enter personal data, receipt number, payer INN, deposit cash, print a check. This method allows you to quickly, without queues, transfer cash to the Federal Tax Service.
  • Using electronic wallets (WebMoney, Qiwi, YandexMoney).

Personal property tax: How to pay

Every year, taxpayers receive notifications to pay property taxes: transport, land and property taxes.

Many have already received them: by mail or in their personal account on the website nalog.ru.

Pay on time

The notices now indicate tax amounts for 2020. The payment deadline is December 3, 2020. Usually you have to pay before December 1, but this year the date was postponed due to the weekend.

What are these taxes?

Individual taxpayers must pay three so-called property taxes:

1. Land tax - it is paid by land owners.

2. Transport tax - charged to car owners.

3. Property tax - for owners of apartments, houses, garages and parking spaces.

As of 2020, notifications may indicate personal income tax - this is an income tax that tax agents assessed but were unable to withhold.

The tax inspectorate has information about all objects: it is transmitted by Rosreestr and the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate. It is known in advance who the owner of a particular car, house and plot is and what characteristics this property has. The tax office itself assesses taxes for each property and sends notifications to taxpayers who own this property. This procedure is provided for by the Tax Code. Notifications must arrive no later than one month before the payment deadline.

How do notifications come and why are they not in the mail?

Tax notices are sent by registered mail. Then a document arrives, printed on paper. There are receipts for payment and all calculations. For three or even four taxes, one notification.

But not all taxpayers will receive such documents on paper. If the taxpayer has a personal account on the website nalog.ru, the notification will be sent there. It will not be sent by mail at all. To find out what taxes have been accrued for 2020, you need to check the information in your personal account. Use your State Services account to log in.

Check accruals in your personal account on nalog.ru

Don’t get confused: accrued taxes are not displayed in your personal account on the State Services portal. They are checked on the website nalog.ru - in the taxpayer’s personal account. Everything is as detailed there as on paper, and you can immediately send an error message or clarify the characteristics of objects.

If you have a personal taxpayer account, but need to take a paper notice, it will be issued upon a separate request. Contact the tax office at your place of residence.

How to pay taxes using a State Services account

Property taxes must be paid by December 3, 2020. You can pay taxes one at a time or all at once. The main thing is to do this on time so that there are no penalties, account blocking, court orders and sudden write-offs.

You can log into your taxpayer’s personal account on the nalog.ru website using your State Services account. Then everything is very simple.

How to pay by receipt

If you received a paper notice in the mail, there will be receipts for your taxes. You can make a payment through Client-Bank, the bank’s mobile application, or go to a bank branch in person.

What does a tax notice consist of?

Even if a tax notice has arrived in your personal account, but you want to pay by receipt, you can print it out - separately for each tax. Open your tax notice and save it as a .pdf file.

My Taxes Tab - View Tax Notice - Save as PDF.

If you don’t have a receipt or access to your personal account

If you know the tax amounts, you can pay them through the Pay Taxes service. There you can also pay tax using the document index (UIN) - this is a long number on the receipt.

If there is no number, simply fill out the payment details according to the instructions.

How do you know if money has been credited towards your taxes?

The money will be written off immediately, but this will not be reflected immediately in your personal account. You need to wait 10 days and then check the information on the website nalog.ru.

Until December 3, accrued amounts are not yet considered debt, so they are not on the State Services portal in the “Tax debt” informer. But this does not mean that you do not need to pay anything. Check the accruals in the taxpayer’s personal account on the website nalog.ru.

After December 3, check your tax debt at State Services. You can pay it off there, but taking into account penalties.

Is it possible to pay for another person?

Cases arise when a close relative, acquaintance, or colleague cannot pay for themselves, sent tax receipts, due to insurmountable circumstances. There are several methods to help pay bills, through:

  1. SberbankOnline, through a debit card/savings account, entering the data from the receipt;
  2. by going online to the sites of other banks in Russia, having savings accounts/debit cards in them;
  3. terminals, ATMs located in the nearest branches of Russian banks;
  4. electronic money, if you have registered electronic wallets;
  5. branches of Russian Post, banks, where payments are made by operators.

These methods are described in detail above in the text.

How to pay tax in Sberbank Online using TIN?

It is convenient to pay taxes using a receipt, but the document is not always at hand - for example, users registered on the State Services portal do not receive a paper statement at all; the operation can be performed in the taxpayer’s personal account. If only the TIN is known, you can also pay the tax in Sberbank Online, but only if there is a delay - failure to repay the debt on time. Follow the instructions:

  1. From the main page of your personal account, go to the payments tab.
  2. Select the tax service as the recipient.
  3. Click “Search for overdue taxes by TIN.”
  4. Indicate the write-off card and taxpayer number.
  5. If a debt is found, you need to check the details and confirm the payment.

If the delay has not yet occurred, this method will not work - there will be no data in the GIS GMP, since the Federal Tax Service does not transmit information on taxes that can be paid without charging a penalty. To pay, you will have to enter the taxpayer’s account and there select the “Payment via Sberbank Online” method.
