    The recovery mechanism largely depends on the status of the document owner. The procedure for carrying out activities to restore a document for working and non-working citizens will be slightly different.

    SNILS lost by a child

    Unemployed citizens, individual entrepreneurs and children who have lost their certificate must independently apply to the Pension Fund at their place of registration. To restore the lost certificate of a child under 14 years of age, an application must be submitted by one of his parents (or a person replacing him - an adoptive parent, guardian, etc.).

    After submitting the application, a duplicate certificate must be produced within one month.

    • child's birth certificate;
    • civil passport of the parent or adoptive parent;
    • a copy of the lost insurance certificate.

    Children over 14 years of age submit applications and documents independently. Instead of a copy of SNILS, you can simply provide its number. An individual entrepreneur also restores SNILS on his own. He must apply for a duplicate certificate as an independent policyholder.

    The procedure for restoring this document for a child depends on his age:

    • if he is not yet 14 years old, then the documents are submitted with the participation of a parent (both the adult and the child need to confirm their identity, the presence of the second is not necessary);
    • upon reaching 14 years of age, the child himself can restore the paper without the presence of his parents, but he must have a passport with him.

    Otherwise, the terms and procedure for applying remain unchanged and do not have any special features.

    Under 14 years old

    If you ordered SNILS for your son or daughter before they turned 14, and it was lost, it can always be restored. To do this, parents or other legal representatives of the child (one person is enough) need to come to the Pension Fund office with their passport and the baby’s birth certificate. The presence of the child himself is not necessary for this procedure.

    A teenage child who already has a passport and SNILS card has all the rights of an adult in this regard and must act entirely according to the “adult” procedure:

    • visit to the Pension Fund with your passport;
    • filling out a loss form;
    • after the allotted time - receiving a duplicate.

    FOR YOUR INFORMATION! The law does not insist on the mandatory presence of parents when a teenager visits a Pension Fund office and takes actions aimed at restoring SNILS.

    All data from the work book is added to the history of this document. The ID number consists of a sequence of eleven digits. The first nine constitute the document number itself. The last two are used to verify identity in case of unforeseen circumstances.

    In addition, officials and employees of government bodies can exchange information about one person using SNILS data.

    The parent's passport, the child's birth certificate, a copy of SNILS or its number are presented. Children who are already 14 years old write the application themselves.

    If a citizen decides to independently restore SNILS, then the procedure in this case is as follows:

    • Before going to the Pension Fund at your place of residence, you must make sure that you take an identification document with you;
    • Come to the Pension Fund office at your place of permanent residence;

    The abbreviation SNILS means the insurance number of an individual personal account. The number is assigned to residents of the Russian Federation, both adults and children.
