Basic elements of a job description

Let us next turn to the elements without which the job description will be incomplete and will not be able to serve for the implementation of objective tasks:

  1. Job responsibilities. This point is the basis of the job description. It contains not only general requirements for the deputy general director, but also additional ones that exist within individual enterprises. Please note that the employee has the right to refuse to perform those actions that are not prescribed in this paragraph.
  2. Rights. To perform his official duties, the employee uses the rights given to him by the General Director, as well as legislative acts. Without the rights of a deputy general. the director will not be able to sufficiently and efficiently implement his professional activities and carry them out efficiently.
  3. Responsibility. The higher the status of an employee’s position, the more responsibility he bears. Clarification of the level of responsibility can be found in legislative acts, codes and other documents. By skipping this point, you can deprive the deputy general director of responsibility - that is, it is unfair to shift it to the general director or other employees.
  4. Requirements for a candidate for the position. Literally, this point always plays a key role, since fulfilling the duties of the Deputy General Director requires not only fundamental knowledge, but often experience. A person deprived of this will not be able to fully implement his job responsibilities efficiently.

Consider the following example. Let’s say that an employee’s job responsibilities include the item “monitoring the financial and economic activities of the enterprise,” but there is no section with the employee’s knowledge requirements. In this case, an employee without proper education simply will not be able to cope with his responsibility even during the probationary period. Therefore, the presence or absence of a requirements section is not always important.

Recommendations for drawing up a job description

When drawing up a job description, you should rely on the recommendations of experienced specialists, lawyers and directors of organizations who share their experience in developing this document. Let's look at the most important tips for drawing up instructions:

  1. When drawing up, it is necessary to take into account the statutory documents of the organization, where the tasks and functions are prescribed.
  2. The responsibilities of employees should not be completely duplicated - an employee of each level, as a rule, should be assigned his own task.
  3. If a managerial person is indicated in the job description, then there should be only one. If multiple supervisors are specified for an individual employee, the quality of performance will noticeably decrease.
  4. The same basis of rights, with the exception of those that are specific to individual positions, is necessary for each employee without exception.
  5. After the instructions have been drawn up, it is necessary to have them checked by an independent expert for inconsistencies with existing rules and regulations.

The job description is considered the basis for assessing the quality of work of an employee, manager, and the entire enterprise. Therefore, special attention and professionalism must be paid to the drafting of the job description of the deputy general director.
