Recommendations for drawing up a job description for a logistics manager

The basis for drawing up the document are special reference books. They contain criteria by which a person can be assessed when applying for a job.

Important! Before the main part of the document there must be a header, which indicates by whom, when and for whom the job description is approved.

What sections should be in the DI of a logistics manager?

To draw up your own instructions, you should use a standard template, which are available in large quantities on the Internet. A similar CI was previously presented. The document does not have a standard form, the number and series of which are fixed in the current legislation, but it is important that the job description contains all the mandatory sections and points that fully illustrate the work of a logistics employee. The standard instructions consist of several parts, the order of which is described in more detail below.

Section one – “General provisions”

This contains information about the category of the position, as well as the qualifications that the new employee must have. This section necessarily specifies the requirements for the work experience of a potential employee and the knowledge, skills and abilities that he must possess.

Section two – “Job responsibilities”

This section is the largest and includes information about what the employee is required to know and do. All functions that are performed by a logistician are described in detail here. It also describes what actions the employee is required to coordinate.

Attention is certainly paid to the description of individual activities and production tasks, the execution of which is the responsibility of the logistician.

Section three – “Rights”

The possibilities a citizen has for organizing the full performance of work are described.

The actions that an employee can perform if necessary to ensure the full operation of the company are indicated. It must be described where and on what grounds an employee can represent his company in other enterprises.

Section four – “Responsibility and performance assessment”

This section is required to determine the degree of responsibility of an employee if he committed a violation of labor regulations, internal work regulations or other requirements. You can describe the penalties and conditions for management to contact the police and the judiciary, if necessary.

Section five – “Working conditions”

All conditions are described, including the regime, provision of mechanisms, materials, and necessary resources to perform work duties. Since a logistician may have subordinates, this section describes the procedure for managing employees and organizing their work.

The document is prepared in advance so that the new employee has the opportunity to familiarize himself with the DI before being hired. Familiarization is carried out strictly against signature, and the instructions themselves must contain the signature of the head of the enterprise and a seal.
