New algorithm for calculating temporary disability benefits

Art. 1 of Law No. 104-FZ dated 01.04.2020 obliges the payment of temporary disability benefits based on the minimum wage if, in the normal calculation, it turned out to be less than the minimum wage (RUB 12,130 in 2020).

The new rules are in force until the end of 2020 and are aimed at providing financial support to the population in difficult economic conditions.

Still taken into account:

  • regional coefficients;
  • duration of working hours if the employee works part-time.

Here is a new algorithm for calculating the payout:

An innovation was the stages of calculating the daily benefit amount based on the minimum wage and comparing it with the benefit amount determined in the usual manner.
